Canada Issues 4.500 ITAs in latest Express Entry Draw
Government of Canada held one of its big draws issuing 4,500 invitations.
Express entry candidates with a Minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score (CRS) of 471 and above are invited in the latest draw held on October 14, 2020.
Canada’s immigration department (IRCC) has been holding draws of 4.200 twice in a month. The department has not had a draw of this size since february 2020.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required to be selected was 471 same as the previous express entry draw held on September 30.
Serving as Canada’s main source of skilled foreign workers, the federal Express Entry system manages the three economic immigration categories namely the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trade Class (FSTC) and Canada Experience Class (CEC).
An invitation to apply (ITA) was issued to those selected candidates. Invited candidates received ITAs are expected to complete their permanent residence applications within 60 days.
In order to be selected from the Express Entry candidate pool, a job offer is not required. Candiates with an eligibile job offer get additional points.
As of October 12, 2020, total of 144.338 candidates are registered in express entry pool of candidates.
Candidates who want to immigrate to Canada are entered into the Express Entry pool where they are ranked based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores.
CRS score is based on factors including age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English and French Language among others.
There is no need for a job offer to be eligible for the Express Entry candidate pool.
In regular draws from the pool, which regularly happen to be every two weeks, the highest ranked candidates are issued ITA for Canadian permanent residence. However, in September three all-program draw have been held.
A candidate should improve his CRS score in a number of ways. One of them is being nominated by a province. A nomination through Canada’s provincial nominee program is the most valuable in terms of points.
A person with provincial nomination receives 600 points toward their CRS score which almost guarantees and invitiation to apply for Canadian permanent residence status.
Many provinces including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Mantioba and Ontario have expres entry aligned immigration streams in their provincial immigration programs.
The other way of increasing CRS score is to improve English or French. With improved Language scores (IELTS, TEF, CELPIP etc) candidate can increase his CRS score for sure.
Students who studied in Canada will also get extra points for their minimum of two semesters post secondary education in Canada.
