4,200 Candidates Received ITAs in Latest Express Entry Draw
Canada held its latest Express Entry draw on September 2 and issued 4,200 invitations (ITA) to apply for Canadian permanent residence to candidates.
In this draw, federal skilled worker category (FSWP) applicants were included as well. The latest draw was the third all program draws since March 18 held by Canada immigration department (IRCC).
In the government’s latest draw, the minimum comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score was 475.
Serving as Canada’s main source of skilled foreign workers, the federal Express Entry system manages the three economic immigration categories namely the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trade Class (FSTC) and Canada Experience Class (CEC).
Candidates who want to immigrate to Canada are entered into the Express Entry pool where they are ranked based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores.
CRS score is based on factors including age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English and French Language among others.
If someone is nominated from any province in Canada, he is awarded an additional 600 points on top of his original human capital score in federal express entry system.
Since Coronavirus outbreak and its measures put in place on March 18, this is the 13
th
draw by the government of Canada. Instead of skilled workers, Canada has been targeting PNP and Canada Experience Class (CEC) applicants since corona virus outbreak.
Some of the reasons why skilled workers have not been selected since March 4, was due to coronavirus outbreak and its measures put in place. When selected, candidates may not have medical examinations and could not get police certificates on time to comlete their applications as invited candidates received ITAs are expected to complete their permanent residence applications within 60.
As of August 31, total of 142,192 candidates have been registered in the candidates’ pool in Express Entry.
Government of Canada aims to process permanent residence applications of those selected within six months.
